Poetry, Appetizers & Feliz

Bienvenidos! We invite you to sit back, relax and feed both the soul and your body. We will explore a diverse array of poems from Latin American authors, ranging from literary giants like Pablo Neruda and Juan Luis Borges to hidden gems like Benedetti, Mistral, Ibarbourou, Buesa, and many others. The selection of poems we have curated will tantalize and inspire with their innovative verse, bold language and raw passion as they explore themes of love, relationships, family and emotions.

The poems will be recited in a lush, verdant garden that instantly evokes the romanticism and settings where many of the writers themselves lived. Freshly brewed cafesito and mimosas, along with delicious appetizers and light bites, will be provided. Come break bread with fellow individuals who have the same passion and interest in poetry as you, often leading to rich conversations after the recitals and even new friendships.

Your hosts, Pasita and her partner Monica, both born and raised in Cuba, who delight in sharing their culture and bringing people together to eat, drink, converse, and be happy. We believe that poetry is a beautiful form of communication that is not heard often enough, and so we have created these tertulias (salons) to change that. We look forward to sharing with you our knowledge of poetry and the history of the authors while you sip a fresh coffee and have enriching conversations with your fellow guests in an intimate and beautiful setting.
